Our company has been in the food business for over a decade. From distributing premium seafood ingredients to restaurants, to opening sushi stations in high-end supermarkets, we now seek our own spaces to serve guests the best authentic Japanese ramen we can offer.
The taste you get at RamenYa is no accident. Our staff has spent years researching ramen for American audiences. This included plenty of trial and error, along with years visiting Japan to understand and learn ramen dishes. We have focused on making the perfect blend of authentic Japanese ramen that satisfies American demand, and we are proud of our work so far.
In order to serve the best product, we have to use the best ingredients available. We are proud to import premium flour for noodles directly from Japan. We have a top-of-the-line noodle machine to make fresh noodles daily. We strive to create a perfectly chewy texture that stays firm while seated in warm broth. We use Berkshire pork bone, a luxury breed of pork that yields excellent flavor for our homemade broth. Ramen is not just about having the best broth, noodles, or pork chashu. It is about harmony in the bowl, with all the ingredients coming together perfectly.
RamenYa was created as a central kitchen for Pora Foods, located at American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. We ship our made from scratch ingredients there, and will to our third location coming later this year. It was Glen Burnie’s support that convinced us to open as a restaurant. Here you can find the steps of our noodle making process!
1. Mixing our dough using premium Japanese flour
2. Pouring the dough into the noodle machine to make dough sheets
3. Roll the sheets multiple times for smoothness, and to ensure perfect thickness
4. Sprinkle more flour for freshness
5. Slice dough into ideal size and portion for each ramen bowl
6. Noodles are then set aside for use at RamenYa, or sent to Pora in New Jersey.
